About Me
I’m Jess, a junior graphic designer living in the Sacramento area.
I’ve spent most of my working “life” in IT. For the past 15 years I’ve designed and configured workflows and custom pages in a COTS* ERP** system used by city and county government agencies. I’ve also designed and developed reports, and written training/reference manuals for said product, employing my talent for design to make the information easier to digest. Before that I was a Helpdesk Analyst for the same software system.
In school—where I received a certificate in Graphic Communications—I was awarded two “Best of Class” awards for graphic design projects. I have also had the pleasure of producing “real” graphic design projects, including a student resources website (commissioned as my Web Development class final project and adopted by the CIS Division); an infographic poster (also commissioned by the CIS Division); and military insignia for the new Maritime Component of the Californa State Military Reserve.
In my spare time I like to read, watch/listen to way too many YouTube videos & podcasts, and learn as many graphic design techniques and tricks as I possibly can.
I am currently involved in an Indie “visual novel” type video game, producing graphics and UI elements, and learning (on the fly, as usual) how to use Ren’Py.
